Fatherhood and ‘old’ age is turning me soft. Last night I was wiping my eyes after seeing the wonderful House of Sand and Fog, starring Ben Kingsley. Tonight I got a lump in my throat after hearing Gretchen Crier and Nancy Ford’s Old Friends on Radio 4.
